Per window is a good way to price. My prices are nearer to £1.00 per medium sized window and I'm in the midlands. You should also consider access though, and add more to the price for awkwardness.

I would price £1 per window, £1.50 for patio doors/french doors. 50p per door (depending how much glass)
Then stick another £1 on top for yourself. if they are awkward then stick £2-£3 ontop.

Too cheap - by a long way.  At least £1 a window as a bare minimum.

When people say £1 per window do they mean even for an entire bay window?I've always priced by how long I think the job will take but obviously it's guesswork.Pricing per window seems more precise so I think I'll consider it.

I asked this question, many a time, when I first started. The only answer I thought reasonable was "an average sized window frame (approx 4ft x 3ft) with 3 panes of glass"

Personally, I always price up 'per pane of glass' (with larger panes sub-divided into 1 metre square sections).  Cleaning 6 panes in one window frame must take longer than cleaning 3 panes in a similar sized frame.

It takes a bit longer to price up - but I think it is more accurate with regards to the time and effort involved.

At least I thought it was when I cleaned 'trad'

Even though I'm now 100% wfp, I still price the same way.

average window £1 bay window £2 small bits of glass in doors 50p. i`d also add money on if the job looks difficult with access or if the windows are leaded ect

At your present 50p per window you could be doubling your prices. i was once to cheap so i put all my jobs up £1 per year untill they were right.

I tend to make it up as I go along(but I am only in my first month!) But I have devised a rough system I use which I put together from this site.In better off areas/houses I charge £1 a window,£1.50 for bay windows and patio doors,In poorer areas/houses I charge 75p per window and £1.00-£1.25 for bay windows and patio doors,If there are small windows I just add a rough figure on to the total price,normally to round the figure up to pounds rather than ponds and pence.I started with the idea of a £7 min charge,but I have since reduced that to £6,but that is for very small houses/flats.I have even gone done to £5 on a couple of properties,but they only had 3/4 windows and I could not bring myself to charge more,one said she was happy with that and would pay more if I thought it was not enough,and the other said the last cleaner charged £3,but I said that was probably why he dont come any more.So if the job is really small I will charge £5,but wont go any lower than that.
