I would not put any advice on a public web site, leaves yourself wide open. After you clean leave them a spotter bottle, with your sticker on. Advice can come back and bite you in the rear. :o

i have read something not long ago, apparently if you create a page which is an advise page, people first of all search for how to remove stain themselves, if they come on your site is more likely they will look through it, and if you mention that doing it themselves can set the stain and is best to use professional service they more likely to give you a call, although it may not work but one page will not hurt, and the reason why I’m looking for an article written by professional body such as ncca is so i don’t have the responsibility of giving advise myself  ;) i.e. if i didn’t write it and it is indexed back to the people who did, i cannot be responsible for it. ;D

You are right Dash. Sets you up with some authority. Yahoo answers, have a look on there. Half the advice i've seen is total rubbish but people seem to lap it up. ::) Problem is are these potential good customers or the ones that DIY are ruin stuff rather than get someone in?

well i dont know thats exactly why i want to check it out, ;D you see if i add this page on and then monitor how many people visited this page and if that increases the total number of new customers we will get, then it's abviously working. If i get many hits to that page but no many new customers, then obviously is not working and i will just take the page out and restrict google crawler to it, so is not as if it's going to hurt me in any way, thats why i really want to try it.i'm always up for exploring new things and i think it's a good experiment. ::)

you have good straight forward advise page for stains and spills, did you write it up yourself? it's very well written.

Hey Dash,

The idea you have is the same as ours. Although we are investing into collecting the data first and hand writing each one. Not particularly about carpet cleaning mind, but hints, tips etc in general.
I think the important bit is to make it clear to a visitor (so at the beginning of the article) that you cannot be held responsible for them trying the tip out themselves as they are designed to be used by experienced persons.

There was one question I had for you though Dash, but this one is possibly best left for email, so will ask you that way.

Regards,

Tom.
