You will need to do some SEO work on it to come up in the free listings in google, msn, yahoo. One of the points is the amount of links that are out there for you. You can submit articles or do links. The better quality links are from relevant sites (ie... cleaning sites and so forth depending on your type of site) Quality links will get you more but you can also go with quantity. You can get a high quantity of links by using a semi automated directory submitter. I use digi xmas. Again the higher the page rank the directory you are submitting to the more clout it will hold with google. There are other search engine issues you need to sort also such as key words in your meta tags and ensuring that your page has relevant information for the key word (if you do office cleaning in mansfield ensure it says it in the text of your page as often as you can but still look professional). Some key words are harder to get good results on than others but people tend to search a little more specific. If I were to search for "office cleaning" my page would not rank as high as a search for "office cleaning mansfield". Using the description meta tag also is a good idea but not as important as it used to be. The descripiton meta tag can be used to get an eye catching entry on the page. What I mean here is the description meta tag will be what comes up on the search engine once the key word is searched for. I use "reliable office cleaning in nottingham, mansfield, chesterfield, and derby". If you search for "office cleaning mansfield, my site is number one in google. But unlike other sites that use their name in the meta tag I use as stated above and what comes up is reliable office cleaning whic I have found to attract some attention because that is one of the reason people tend to switch their agency.
