Staircase cleaning - quote help needed
« on: December 02, 2009, 01:25:14 pm »
Hi guys!
Need a help with quotation for cleaning staricases in block of flats.
As I never did it before (just house cleaning) just guessing the price
There are 4 staircases.
Each:
- 3 floors /about 10 steps between/
- all covered with carpet
- half glass outside doors.
They want:
1. Beat mat outside, clean cobwebs, hoover staircase, dust ledges, banisters and skirting boards and wipe over entrance doors.
2. When needed: sweep flagstones, wipeover outside cupboards door (4) and other paintwork
3. When needed: wipe marks and finger prints off walls (which I'm concerned off as walls are covered with emulsion so no way to damp clean it).

Think that's all they need AFAIR.

Anyone can help me with quote?
I think it my take roughly 3h for all of them but just point 1 so general things without extra bits.
Was thinking of £40 forthnightly.

Thx

Hi Igor

Its hard to say a price without veiwing. But from what you say I would probably say add an extra hour and adjust the price accordingly and maybe put in a price and not for time spent on site.

With regards to the walls with emulsion some emulsion paint is washable. Providing its not plasterboard. It has to be solid wall. Make sure you use a clean white cloth when damp wipeing.

Yes, I'll go for just a price instead of hours.. Still concerned about the price as don't know commercial prices in here in Bristol. Domestics are £9-£9.50 an sometimes even £8.50...

Don't want to get to the point when I'll hear that paint is pretty remobed by my damp cleaning...
Any experience with such surfaces???

Hi Igor,

How did you get on?

As with prices, I would not concern yourself too much. Especially on a forum. Most of the people on here are decent. However you will get prices ranging from - not worth getting out of bed, to being a millionare in a day or two.

As for your area on prices I cannot comment as I am from Kent, Maidstone so completely different area. I would assume that prices start in the region of £8.00 to £15.00 commercially - then the smaller contracts anything from £70 per visit. Depending on certain factors.

As for experience with certain surfaces - Yes we clean painted walls. Best bet is to test a small inconspicuous area to see if you can determin wether or not it is possible to damp wipe. - Allow the wall to dry and go back to see the result.

Best of luck

Hi Dave!
Told £40 and wait for an answer. Told me will get back on thursday this week.

Regarding walls - I will do as you advised - will try on small/hidden part and will see.

Thanks a lot!

Igor
