« on: November 27, 2009, 12:08:25 pm »
Dave, what kind of a meter do you have on your ro system please?
I want to monitor my water usage and be able to seperate my buisiness from my domestic usage.

;D just a drop in the ocean. When the bill comes in you need to apply for a form to claim back on the sewerage side of the bill. I need to calculate how much goes down the drain how much I use for cleaning the windows and how much is household use. Then I can put a realistic figure on the form every time the bill comes in. So I might stick a meter on my ro supply.
Well, that's the plan.

FTP, Dave has been very naughty lately and has been told by the forum admin, to go and stand in the corner for a bit. That means he's not allwowed to post and no supper before he goes to bed. :(

Well that's what he told me yesterday by email.

Really? I thought he was a good boy (well after his spat with Ewan - but then everyone eventually falls out with him).

If you want to measure your usage I use this cubic metre flow meter

Thinking outside the box, can't you use your own house water meter to calculate this?

For example, take a water meter reading, then turn on the external house tap that feeds your RO and let it run for an hour.

During that hour make sure no-one turns on any house taps, or washing maching/disher washer.

After the hour turn off the tap and take another meter reading.

Deduct one from the other and you know how much water you use for an hour.  Using that 1hr reading you should be able to roughly calcuate your water usage for work only.

Just an idea.
