do i just need to replace the spray arm or will the bearing drum be damaged too after arm hit a flag sticking up on a patio?  i have ordered a new spray arm today.?

its leaving tiger stripes on the flags and the whole whirlaway is shaking.

Had a similar thing happen on our FSC from Techclean ,we just changed the arm and everything was ok. Do you rate the whirlaway only am looking at getting another unit?

we have a techclean (honda 13hp) one at the moment which is good, would really like a push start instead of a pullcord, nearly broke me thumb this week with the recoil, was just wondering what the whirlaway was like and is it any good or are they pretty well all the same?

Hi guys,i could do with a bit of help from you ...The last time i was on here i was going to get a loan to buy a set up,,but with the credit crunch and other stuff, decided to save up the funds insted.. Anyway i've almost got the funds, and was wondering if you guys could rate any set ups..I've been looking at the techclean set up and the whirlaway , but i'm drawn to the techclean as the fsc looks a much better bit of kit... Do all you guys use the honda 13hp and would it be powerful enough to do a bit of drain jetting and grafitti removal...any help would be much appreciated guys , kind regards,, Shaun........

You won't go wrong with Tech-Cleans machines we have had one for 5 years and it has been great, still using it. As far as drian jetting with it, I would say no, it might handle small blockages, but you don't have the Lts per min or PSI to handle nastier stuff. As far as grafitti goes heat and the right chems is the way to go, some guys on here do, do it with cold water so they might be able to give advice.

Can't comment on drain jetting, but honda 13hp more than enough for graffiti removal, it's more about the right chemicals rather than lots of pressure/flow.

How can the arm hit the flag,the skirt hangs lower than the rotateing arms that would hit the anything in the way first,unless you tilted it up to go over this flag which tbh is rather a daft thing to do

the whirlaway is awesome!! if its set up right/ i got mine from merril fox for £350.

with graffiti roger is right, its all about the chemicals, i use graffiti hotlines products which work fine with cold water, and with graffiti removal you only want low pressure!! The only time cold water doesnt work is if the graffiti area has been treated with a wax sacraficial anti graffiti coating, as you need hot water to melt wax off

Its a common problem, usually caused by trying to get the corners of paving clean right up to the edge. If one of the wheels or the skirt drops off the edge of a flag say, then the end of the rotating bar will hit the corner of said flag and BANG £70 up the swanny!!!
