concept

soffits with vents - wfp

there was a thread on here a while back that suggested a towel over your wfp brush, and clean away, now i recently tried this and made a right mess, they looked worse than before!

just how do you clean these soffits with vents?!

i was thinking bout this also and though of attaching a sponge or foam pad onto end of pole like the ones you clean floor with. You know what i am on about

On these types of soffits I use a microfibre floor cleaner attached to an extension pole.

depending on what vents your talking about, the round or straight ones:

Round be very careful you touch some and they break up like dust (found this out the hard way) now you dont have to.

Straight one I have never had a problem with as these are new for now...

If you break round vents replace them or highlght this before you start so you don't have to, I have insurance to cover us to do this job, I charge very little for this highly skilled job ;D , you get the vents from wickes or gibbs and dandy about £1 each..... can should be able to see an add on here guys  ;) stanley knife or simalar is required as 9/10 the vents are not same hole size by 1mm or 2  ::)

Washing them in winter is easy summer is a cow, I will say the way I clean them in winter

Spray tfr on all round, go back to start and using wfp brush cleaning them finish one side at a time. Rinse next side same , clean windows, then wrap a micro fiber on brush with a rubber band and dry off the hangging drips. jobs a good'un  ;D

I have never had a complaint from doing it this way

Why use towels and elastic bands? Just stick your damp applicator on the end of your pole.

Just the way I have done it tbh, I tried the applicator, and got a better result with a towel

I just do them  with wfp and give them a good rinse after ..then if the drips are bad, i just put an old scrim over the brush and wipe them off...always comes up lovely

its ok to basically wfp them then, and wipe down after?!

jeeeeeezzzzz....i have avoided at least 2 jobs because of them! :(

they take longer but they do come good in the end. just need to keep rinsing. used a wfp on some yesterday then when the water was running clear just kinked my hose so the water is off and took away the drips. went back to look at them dry and they were fine

I was talking about pricing with another guy yesterday. With add on's i used to get stung in the early days, i remember a £35 job taking me four hours...lol

just comes with experience, just don't be scared to put a healthy price in ;)

that said, there was a monster conny roof that took me 3 hours to do, which was the 2nd i only ever quoted on, and i had quoted £40  :-[

what canvasser you got? if you ever feel like lending them out for a few nights give them my number ;) :D

there are lots of jobs i've cocked up on. normally when there pretty tasty looking and my eyes are side tracked...haha. I think i have the pricing sorted now but sometimes i still get it wrong but never dents me as bad ;)
