got a diy gutter vac. done a few jobs but is harder than i thought. and pricing now easy i find. i have a telescopic pressure washing lance also with a spike on to loosen the sludge first before using vac.  but wondered what you guys do if there are heavy broken ridge tiles etc in gutters? or what do you use to spike the guuters if its higher than the telescopic lance?

some custy said to me it wont do as gud a job as a man on a ladder cleaning them out also the man on the ladder is cheaper.

my main job is pressure washing which i feel confident in but i am low in confidence at present with using the vac.

also what do you use as a spike on 3 story houses or town houses. my pressure washing lance with spike on only goes upto normal house gutters?

my good tip is "post the question in the other section"  general cleaning questions as all the pressure washing guys will answer it all. im never on this part much.

Well, unfortunately your customer is probably right. I can spike at three stories with my windowcleaning pole and my diy spike. Quite often the nozzle can be used to break up some sections. Omnipole now use an Aluminium one which probably works better. If it's grass in the gutter once you have spiked the roots quite often once you hoick the first foot out then gravity takes control.

Don't mind saying that I'm skeptical, I mean how do you get the tools in that narrow gap? How can it lift fallen tiles? Does the hose block up with silt etc.?
Wouldn't it be best to lift the gutter off completley and wash it out and re-apply it?

i bought an omni set up in the early days with the heavy power poles, i think the only useful thing is the downpipe blower to be honest and the camera for survey work, i operate the camera from my unger carbon fibre poles as the power poles are bloody heavy after a while, i did find that the vac was very plastic and bust up easy as well.

Yep, hose can get blocked and silts up, narrow nozzle for narrow gaps, no won't pick up a tile unless it's fairly small or a pair of tilers pliers that i found once  
Stupidly expensive for what it is but does have some good points. No ladders to fall off, no ladders to move, clean hands, reaches some very difficult areas.
You get to feel superior too   Just like a waterfed pole user.

the only other good thing worth mentioning is that it features on a HSE working at height DVD
