Customer with tumour
« on: November 17, 2009, 05:51:31 pm »
3 months ago a really nice customer of ours told us he had just been diagnosed with a tumour in his bladder and that there was little that could be done for him regards treatment.
We cleaned his windows today and my word he looked so rough, he always went round the back and opened the gate for us ,but today he couldnt even do that as he was so weak, he just handed the keys to my mrs to open the gate.
This fella was always fit as a fiddle and always had a good chat with us and  always gave us a £1.50 tip every clean.
I hate to see this sort of thing as some of your custys you can get quite attatched to.
We done his clean at about 2pm this afternoon and since seeing him i just cant stop thinking about the poor bugger

It's an awful thing seeing somebody deteriorate like that.My wifes mate got cancer and within a month she was absolutely unrecognisable.Really shocking, you don't know what to say.

let that be a lesson to those who think that working from first thing till last thing at night to get the "big money" in, lifes too short to waste it working all hours god sends,If something happens you will regret it and then it will be too late.enjoy what you have, your family, wife, kids etc I have lost both parents and all my grandparents and I don't want to have any more regrets than i already have, missed too much of my kids growing up.Its time to put it right before its too late, hence that is why i have started window cleaning.here endith the lesson for today

Can't believe i just read that windows? 1 hour??? So sorry, sincerely. Had a bad moment today myself. My bestest customer,ex nurse, salt of the bloody earth. Right as rain last month. Had a heart attack friday. She's back in the hospital she spent years workin in. I prayed for her when i found out. Her husband lost his daughter earlier this year to cancer(from another marriage) and HE'S got a bad heart too. He's already had a couple of ops. It's fair to say 2009 has been bloody evil to that family. I've also got to go a a house week after next that had the guys whole family round last time i cleaned...............He might well be gone by now. Family man............45-50???? 2 kids....only young, not even teenagers. Dunno what i'm trying to say really. I guess,yeh.........live each day as if it's ya last. Cos one day, it will be. Life can be sh*t, more often than not. But christ, rewind, reflect and tell those you love that ya love them.........and more importantly, do lil things that show them that that's the case.  ;)

We  should all take a moment from time to time to really take in what is important..as some may know my dog was runover last week and died in my arms...I know he was a dog but to me he was my kid...

This week I have started to run and my aim to is put  1 euro into my jar for every run I complete target is a 1000 runs (ps I am overweight and unfit ;)...that money will be given to Help the Heros and a Dutch animal charity in 100 euro blocks until I achieve that number. Death and sickness can sometimes be a wake-up call.

Tell your partner how much they mean to you..do something extra/nice for someone this week without the want of return.

Be the man/woman your parents/child/children would want you to be...

Cheers
Dave...
