After reading and replying to the thread ...clients be ing at home ,I thought I would post a thread on how do you deal with clients when you arrive, they are in and want to stand around for a chat .
For five minutes fine, but when it comes to 1/2 hour,by which time youve finished , you cant be bothered to do the clean now. :
Do you take it out of their time? Still do your full hours? Or go half way ?

It is good to talk to your customers, just say you don't mind if i make a start and chat, or just go in and say where do you want me to start today.

Its a very tricky one from previous experience we've had customers who almost have a cleaner so they have a bit of company - look forward to a chat finding out what's going on in your life as they don't have much going on in theirs. This is Ok until as you said it goes on a bit & you need to be working, I had one customer who chatted to the cleaner for most of the clean then complained the work wasn 't getting done
what do you say - well stop talking!!
Its up to the cleaner to politley cut it short & say 'oh well I best get on' then they see you want to get on.

I have a 93 year old client who I am very fond of she is lovely but some weeks when she is in a talking mood she talks continuously for 2 hours it absolutely tires me out and although sometimes it is interesting I've heard it all before god love her.
