Wasn't sure what to say in the title, 

How does everyone using reach & wash attach their hoses to the van wall so you can run your hose reel or fill from the hoseloc connectors fixed in place?

Is there a fitting kit you buy or do you just make them up?

Best way to attach the feed and fill hose on the inside to avoid all leaks?

Anybody have no what i'm taking about?

A lot of people use this, it fits to the rear bumper or side skirt, it the last item on the list.

Cheers for the info Matt, 

Looks good but was think more along the lines of a DIY setup to go in the side wall of the van, keeping the road muck out of the fittings.

Going that route will de-value the van when you come to either sell it or trade it in. IMO

I can shut the van rear doors on the hose between the pump and the reel, so I lift the reel out, switch the pump on, shut and lock the rear doors and away I go

you can buy rubber bungs when you sell

nice idea waterwizard, along the lines of what matt pointed out to me.

The female hozeloc fittings, are they just pushed through the mounting plate with the standard plastic nut, (that compresses the fitting onto the hose) holding the fitting in place?

yes but now i use gardena fittings seem better two with taps to fill and waste
and two metal  ones from pump i think their pro fittings cost more but worth it

any probelms with road grit getting into the fittings and wrecking them??

i take it you just drilled holes in the floor to run your hoses through?

Ive not had any problems with dirt getting in if they look really dirty i chuck a bit of water at them
and yes holes through the floor

i really like the roller idea, similar to the winch rollers for a landy, excellant bit of engineering

don't you guys with external ports find that the exposed section of hose freezes overnight?

also, doesn't the air introduced into the system mean that your pump keeps running for too long, overpressurising your hose until something pops?

Never thought about that. Be interesting to hear replies to that. I can't see how they wouldn't. Even more concerning is.........it'd be a b*gger to thaw that out

yes they can and do freeze, I have them on my vans, way round this is have a tap on tank, and run water out at night takes about 5 secs max.

I find when they do freeze outside they are frozen inside also

I suppose another way would be to stick a hoselock tap connector into each of the port connections, so any water could run out.

how about air in the  system?

hi all  hear goes

last year mine froze solid tracked inside van right through pump
and just started to freeze tank outlet took ages to thaw out with a hair drier

solved this by cutting all four pipes fitted  hoselock connectors (stop ones on top flow through on bottom)
and joining bits (cant remember wot they call them)

now at the end of the day after filling tank i can just disconnect them and blow the pipes out
after that i had no problems even on the coldest nights
just re connect in the morning and away you go simples!!!

Ive got two 200w frost protection hearters fitted in the van and on realy cold
nights i put an oil filled radiator set on frost

oh its a high roof lwb transit sooner be safe than sorry
