ink stain

Can anyone tell me the best thing to use for ink stain on carpets. What are the likely outcomes for this, will it all come out or will a stain be left?
Any answers will be much appreciated. Got to go and sort it today.

It is wool carpet.
I don't know what the ink type is I have just been asked to try to sort it out. But maybe I can ask that question.
