Why?
Because I used Ultra Pac Renovate for the first time on a poly prop carpet with my Powermax and heater.  Amazing results - almost 'new' looking - and a very satisfied customer 
Just backs up the comments previously made about Ultra Pac.

This is one of the positive things about the forum - I probably would not have tried Ultra Pac yet, had I not read such great reviews by you guys.

Pre spray or in the machine Ben?? Never tried it in machine.

Ultrapac is a pre-spray, diluted 50ml per litre warm water, i have been rating this stuff for years, next time you get a synthetic suite that is heavily nicotine/smoke soiled try it, rinse with FF, you will be amazed, remember not to use on natural fibres tho as it can damage the fibres.

Wayne; as Mark says and agitate well with a 5 to 10 min dwell time. Its a winner. Cant wait for that synthetic smoke soiled suite !!

That's right Ben, pre spray with the UP Ren. Agitate and dwell. Rinse off with Prochem Fabirc Fibre Rinse which is put in your solution tank of the machine.

You can use U/R on wool mixes (subject to testing) as long as you acid rinse at a good 8-1 mix at least.

Pete's right, I have used it on soot jobs with light wool carpets and comes up a treat, but I wouldn't do it willye nilly. As said test and acid rinse after.

Would you use ultra pac on bad draught marks if it was wool or wool mix? or for spotting  for example around a fire place for carbon/soot marks.  Mark what damage does it do to natural fibres?

Andrew, yes thats what its for, draught marks etc, fine on wool as long as you acid rinse.

Its fine on wool for carbon, soot removal, i know of a cleaner who used UP on a 100% wool a couple of years ago and he ended up with an insurance claim because of the damage caused and he did rinse with FF.
It is very good stuff

Mark, why do you think that was?  I've only ever used UP for filtration marks etc and always follow up with a strong dilution of F&F on wool.  Do you think he just didn't use enough FF to rinse through?

I dont think it is just to do with the Ph of Ultrapac, i think there is something in it that can cause damage to wool, Doug is the best man to answer this question.

I have just started to use it on rental properties where the carpets are usually minging and polyprop or nylon, and I have to agree with you its brill.

BUT

It says on the instructions to rinse with clear water (or fibfab) but what happens if you dont use clear water in your rinse?

I have a TM and on a couple of occasions I have left the solution mix on to see what happened and rinsed it with that to no obvious problems.

Any body any idea why you have to rinse using clear water only?

Murky by rinsing with chemical through your metering system you’re not only going to leave the carpets full of residue but you run the  risk  of bleaching the carpets when using  Ultra pack as a pre-spray.

That's why its recommended to rinse with an acid !

Apart from that its a brilliant product for man made fibres and soot marks on wool.

The reason it works O.K on soot in wool without ruining the fibre is the soot kills the chemical before it reaches the wool fibres. On a not so dirty wool carpet it will be a different story.

Thanks for that Dave, though I was spraying F & F afterwards to neutralise. Just wasnt sure what the result would be.
