« on: November 03, 2009, 05:12:05 pm »
i dont bloody think so!

just thought id make sure im not the only one with bloody idiot customers?

last few weeks ive had a customer tell me they dont want it done this month after im almost half way through!, when i tell them i will be charging only a pound more next time cuz they have changed the frequency and would be more dirt on the window = takes longer - they said oh id have to think about that!

wont be going there again!

had a customer ask if i could do her windows every 3 months and it would have to be on a wednesday after half 5 cuz of the dogs! max i could of charged would have been £5 - tiny house!

not worth doing!

had a customer ask me to clean the windows once a month but could i come on bin day - so i could put the bins out - they were only in there 30yrs id say.

had a lady ask me not to clean her bungalow cuz it was too windy!

had a customer cancel there windows done once a month cuz my car was brand new when i was out collecting and they said if i could afford a car like that then they would get a different window cleaner! but were happy with the windows!

I had a funny one last week.  I quoted and got the job, a fairly big new build with leaded windows and a leaded conservatory.  I charged £40 every-other-month, though to be fair my lowest price I'd do this for was £30.

She tells me her previous window cleaner (who stopped turning up four months ago) was only charging £20 per clean.

She then tries to get me to do a gutter clean, every-other-month, 'chucked in with the same price', and then later she wanted the conservatory roof done as part of the price.

I didn't laugh, but I did give her seperate quotes for her gutters and conservatory roof; got paid and departed with a feeling that I will lose this job.

And then, early next morning, I get a text from the customer saying what a lovely job I'd done?!!!

Strange things customers.

i like the one about the new car, so the cancelled,

i think the majority of custys still think that all wc are dole scroungers only doing this for smack money or till them get a "proper job"  like they have, working in a warehouse for 30 years with the chance that they might earn 270 a week with over time, and if really lucky get promoted to a managers job on 18 grand a year

they all have proper jobs,  job stands for Just Over Broke

My misses friends hubby, works for a building company as a sales man, and thinks it great as he is on 14 grand a year, gets his fuel payed, but has to work weekends and does a 200 miles around trip every day, leaves at 7 and gets home at 7, thinks i should get a proper job like him lol

An old boss of mine always said tje customer is not always right. The truth is : The customer must be treated with due respect. The talk non sence you talk the same back. AS far a s the comment about your car ITS NOT THERE BUSINESS,and I would tell them so. Tell them they smart to aften and you do not do people who are to smart.

£14K?? The AVERAGE salary in the UK is £24K. If he is satisfied with £14K he is misguided. Especially seeing that he is away from home for 12hours a day!

I think you will find that the 24k per year they seem to like to say about in true terms is more like about 14k I dont think many of my m8's are on 24k so not sure where they are getting the average from unless this was done on polititions expenses per yer average  :-\

I think it's funny that so many customers think that way, even after you've just spent best part of £10k on a van and WFP set up ............... that's some way to earn a bit of beer money isn't it ;D
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

Ian 24K is the average wage, the average persons wage is 14K.
Big difference, they always go on the "Average wage" and never the "average persons wage"

Its the wages of the country elite earners that pushes the average wage up by 10K.

Just phoned a custy in her £1000,000+ house. "could you leave the electric gates open for me in the morning please?"
This job is a month overdue.
" I want it done closer to Christmas please"  ::)  The richer they are the bigger the pain in the rear they are. This woman is my biggest messer. Think she'll be long gone by Christmas somehow.
