I'm not knocking the idea Sherco the Meerkat, the amount of times I get stopped and asked for a leaflet when I've just gone to get something out of the van warrants an 'A' board/leaflet holder...

95% of people who ask you for a card are doing so because they are being polite, not because they want your business.
I took the livery off all my vehicles for that reason, the lads were getting held up by polite people trying to make small talk after requesting a card.

That board will gain you possibly one job in your lifetime, possibly more. Chuck it in a skip.

Matt the obvious thing that stands out here is your guy’s need sales training!

Anyone who asks for either a card or leaflet needs our service and the people who hand them out willy nilly without asking questions deserve to see it as being pestered.

What a load of.... Nearly every one who requests a leaflet (Well, 76.82% to be absolutely precise ;D ;D ;D) becomes a job. What's wrong wiith people politely talking and asking questions? This is that oportunity to "Educate" the public.... ::)

It sounds ridiculous,  I know!

Ok, here’s the test. Next time someone comes over to you van after seeing all the busy livery and requests a card and a chat about the weather. Explain that you have run out of cards but will come round to their home and give them a free quote after the current job is complete, a no obligation free quote. Insist on it as they have been kind enough to come over.
Watch em squirm and try and wiggle out of that one. It’s very amusing and completely self inflicted. They did ask!   ;D

Your dead right Matt in one way!

These people can be a pain in the arse at times when you want to get on, that's were you qualify how much in need of your service they want before you unlock your van a give them the said card!
Simple.

Or you could say " look I'm very busy  heres my card now pi$$ off"

Or dare I say it,,,,,, Have a plain vehicle with no signs to avoid the said d**k heads coming over to annoy you. And use your time targeting the correct people.

Despite having plain white vans we still get the odd old gimmer asking whats going on, if Im on the job I tell them that we run a mobile liposuction business on behalf of the NHS.  ;D

Diversification is all very well but I think selling sandwiches is too far removed from your core business. ;D
