I need a bit of advice lads, i am going to give a quote Tomorrow for a large commercial premises and they have asked if i can quote also for stainguard as well.
How much roughly should i be charging for this as i have never been asked before i know it depends on what Stainguard i use and the cost etc but a ball park figure would be helpful.
Also will i need a special sprayer to apply i know some of you use special ones for this but can i use my normal pre sprayer to apply, any help appreciated.

If its commercial there is a very high chance the carpet will be polyprop, so there is no benefit in applying a protector.

If your using a bonnet system there is a solution that cleans and protects at the same time..... I'm sure Joe mentioned it in a post a while back.... I'll have a search around later on mate

Thanks for that Mark, its makes sense that only fibres that can absorb the protector would benefit from treatment  i checked the Prochem stuff it cost £32 for 5 litres and covers 30-50 sq m, the prochem guy said i should quadruple the price to the customer!
So charge around £4 per metre, seems a big mark up to me.

It apears to me that all suppliers are competing in the high price game and that is great if you can get it.


Also depends on how much you are charging in first place.

My opinion round about 20p

In an ideal world you need a good quality commercial spayer from one of the suppliers

You could use a good quality hozelock one or the equilivent but as we should be selling protection on 50% plus of jobs invest and that will make you push it more.

Long as its being put down right as any come back might cost you..

Did a job last week for a client and they had there suite protected from new and really i m o it was not done correctly and the moisture was adsorbed..

For bonnetting.
Clinton and Derek use it - I have not tried it yet.

I think Solutions are looking to develop something similar for HWE.
