Just looking through my policy and it says that my excess for tools in van is £500 for "each and every loss". Are you thinking what i'm thinking? Or am i reading it wrong? £500 for a nicked bucket. £500 for a nicked backpack etc etc. Surely that aint right.......Is it? I don't think i've got an individual item in my van that's worth £500. Am i ready for the loony asylum or should i just cancel that part of the policy???
Well, i spoke to simplybusiness tonight and it turns out that the £500 excess as they word it means that no individual item is covered over £500 and that the excess i would have to pay is only £100 all in. They did admit it is worded very badly and that he understood why i would think that(maybe he was just being nice, lol) Bit more like it plus my excess for public liability has gone DOWN from £250 to £100 PLUS my premium has gone down from £130 odd last year to just over £100. So Happy Days are here again.

It's all very well the person on the phone setting themself up as an interpreter but it's what's on the paperwork that counts if/when you need to make a claim
