You need at least 40 PSI from the mains - which i understand is unlikely in the UK - well Norfolk anyway,  so invest in a good pump ( i mean a proper 24/7 running one! ) to boost pressure - mine is running a 75 PSI and will fill 250 litre tank in 2 hours 10 mins ( give or take )

TDS in is 380 IN   015 OUT -  di down to zero

What are merlins like compaired to hf5 4040's? Are they quicker at producing water??

I get 40 litres an hour maximum from my merlin (more usually low 30s though).  It operates around 35 - 38 PSI though and the standpipe that feeds it is a long way from the mains outlet.  I'm sure the 100 litres an hour quoted is perfectly possible under better conditions than mine.  Production gradually dropped to about 15 litres and hour for a while but a membrane change sorted that out.

I had a merlin, waste ratio and product tds (un pumped) was bad. 370 in 30 out.
Now got an hf5 tds out is about 8 - 10 and I fill a 650 tank in 3 hours.

will have to look up the exact name of supplier -  was something like Suffolk pumps  i know they were in Ipswitch and delivered next day

They were very good as i talked to them about the water pressure needed and what i was using it for

Merlin is def no good under the 40 PSI mark - but at the higher pressure works really well for me

I have the Merlin and can fill a 1000 litre IBC tank in approx 12 hours. It was quicker in the warmer weather for some reason.

46 psi pressure according to the gauge on the Merlin.

TDS in 70, TDS out 1.

Can someone explain to me the difference between the purefreedom merlin @£298 and Cleaningspots at @£263. The purefreedom one seems to have a few tubes running around the sides whereas cleaningspots just looks plain basic. Would that be it??

Yep, definitely temp related, it surprised me what a difference it makes. I have the tank / filter in the garage but the hose comes from around the side of the house atm.

Also...are these ok to connect straight into the van so as to produce water "on site" as opposed to making it at home???

I think you will find the cleaning spot one does not have all the related bits like pressure guage - post filter etc..

From what I can tell, the purefreedom pic shows what it looks like assembled with the hoses attached, the cleaningspot one doesn't.

Also, reading the description, the purefreedom one has a hoselock fitting included to attach straight to your supply.

I got mine from windowcleaningwarehouse £215 + vat.

No hoselock fitting but I just put the inlet hose into my supply pipe and put a jubilee clip over it.
