All,
Looking for the machine for agitation, NOT powder cleaning (which would be a positive benefit).......... What does the host or Envirodry offer that the Duo does not, if you bear in mind I intend to use maily for agitation....
?
Cheers

Paul
No one hear uses the host, envirodry or Sebo due for powder cleaning. These machines are designed for this type of cleaning.
Now we all use them for agitation which is a very effective part of the cleaning pie often missed out to save time but essential when using microsplitters.
The host and envirodry machines are better as their heavier, bigger, more rubust so will last longer and can use different types of brush depending upon type of carpet and conditions. They will achieve a quicker and much better result than the duo.
Ive got a duo and a host machine.
Try and think longterm as £160 odd now may have been better invested in a £600 envirodry machine which you will still be using in 10 years time.

160 vs 600, I couldn't agree more. But for a recent start up where cash is at a premium, around the lower figure is all I can really justify.
Maybe in a year or so time, I will upgrade, but until then, the Duo seems the beast for me!
Cheers for all input.

Does anybody else use a Rotowash to agitate? I have been getting the best results I've ever had since using the Rotowash / HWE combination. I originally bought it for hard floors, but now use it exclusively for carpets ( if I could afford it I'd have two, one for each purpose ). Yes its cumbersome, awkward & expensive, but its doing a really good job.

I have used just a normal slow speed rotary on some black top jobs and your right they are cumbersome but they do a good job, i like the look of the rotawash but havent considered buying one yet.
