upgraded to an airflex turbo
« on: October 27, 2009, 06:01:53 pm »
Just upgraded one of cleansmarts triple vac airflex turbos and must admit i am extremely impressed with it both build quality and performance.

Am running it on 100 ft of 2 inch hoses off a reel out the van. and there is loads of vac at that length.

for most domestic jobs this is fine but if i do need to take it out i can and just use my old 50ft of inch 1/2 hose cause the port takes both sizes.

because its in the back of the van its keeping the noise away from the custy causing less disturbance.

saving me a lot of time when packing up and setting up so can squeeze an extra job in when i can now.

Hi Richard,

I was looking at those, want psi? and being triple vac how heavy is it? I I would be wanting for a back up to TM so I would be taking into the property.

What did you have before and how does it compare?

its a 600psi adjustable triple vac. was really surprised about the weight very easy to move around, had power-flite before always like that machine but this sytem is more practical for the sort of work i am doin.

apart from the obvious extra convience of working from the van. yes i would say the performance is better. good drying times at higher psi due to the better airflow with the 2 inch hoses. i also really like the fact you can take out the pump intake supply and dump in a tank so you dont have to bucket fill.

also all working parts are really accessable so easy to work on if any maintanance is required

Cleansmart website doesnt tell much about the Airflex technically.

I know you have the 3 vac machine and they are in parallel with one intake stack in the waste tub.
I understand the motors and pump are easy to get at which is good

but what about heat - no mention of heat.
I heared an inline heater was going to be available but is that in addition to a tub heater or is there no on board heater?

Have you sold your Powerflite as it seems to have disappeared off Ebay?.

no tub heater i have an old inline heater i can plumb in at 25 ft. till i get better one. but i am getting good results.
i have always worked hard on my pre prep work pre vac and decent agitation with envirodri. and to be honest a tub heater at 100ft prob be cooling down a lot by the time it gets to the wand so in-line is better in my opinion. heat where you want it.

Yeah have sold the pwerflite dont get me wrong i thought it was good machine still rate it very highly but the sort of jobs i am getting a lot of require a longer working length . Lots of rural properties and tend to be on the big side. historically the old farmhouses in devon were long and narrow with doors on the ends and sometimes you even have to go through each bedroom to get to the other.

Powerflite gone?

Good to see you using an Envirodri.
Certainly makes a difference in the prep work.
Pity its so heavy, but has to be to do the job in hand.
Recommend this type of machine to anyone, particularly those with a lower powered porty as it will definately aid in producing a good result.

your spot on their joe envirodri is great is pity its heavy but thats how it works. one of the best bits of kit i invested in. my partner and i rent a couple of houses out and the lounge in one was very soiled when the tenant left. did half the room with my sebo duo and half with the envirodri same dwell time same agitation well bit longer with the sebo. extracted in same fashion and you could draw a line down n the carpet sebo just too light and makes hard work of what your trying to achieve.

but then it what suits your system.

better agitation less psi required faster drying times happier customer see you next year . ( hopfully)

Picked my Airflex Turbo triple vac up Wednesday and had a couple of days with it and am very pleased. Agree maintenance is going to be easy and it's a well thought out design. All ready worked at over 100 feet with no issues and plenty of vac, normally I would of carried the twin up the stairs, nice smooth pump with loads of psi. Decided to get an Envirodri for agitation as well after relying on my old victor rotary for years so now can offer dry powder cleaning too. Alltec is all serviced and now the back up, just got to find room for it all in the van now and this 2" hose takes up a lot of room :o

I have 150 ft of 2" hose and as you say it takes room.

I have now at least 50ft of hose hanging from some hooks on the van bulkhead so it leaves me with so much more space :)

Must post some picies soon :)

Are you guys using a glide, got one with the westpac wand just have not got around to fitting it yet, when I was testing the machine it made it much easier.

Be good to see some pics, I considered fitting it in the van but there are so few properties I can actually get close enough too it's not really worth it. My main customers, hotels, offices etc it's a non starter. What tanks etc are you guys using?

You can still take the machine out if you need to mate and on some jobs i just have to use the l m system like on my commercials contracts :)

Use a 250 litre water tank on board myself :)
