Sprite 400 Problem
« on: October 26, 2009, 05:16:48 pm »
Hi

As a carpet cleaner i don't normally visit this forum but I have a problem I thought would have a better chance of an answer on here than the carpet cleaners forum.

I have a very old Sprite 400 built 1991 great machine just works until last week when the handle stuck in the upright position no amount of coaxing has persauded it to move. I have spoke to Victor but no real help forthcoming. I have tried to take it apart where the handle meets the rotary head and removed a centre bolt and 3 further bolts, but it doesn't come apart.

Anyone who has had this problem or anybody with any ideas all comments welcome.

Kind Regards

Eddie Rhone

Have you tried WD40 or anything like that?

Wow that's an eighteen year old machine. Doesn't it demonstrate the best of British (and Brum) engineering.

I'm no expert but if you call Alan on 07720 461 567 ( 08.00 - 16.00 M-F) he will most likely be able to talk you through it. Mention that Phil sent you or he will naff you off ;-)
