i use a zire21 in sunlight and zire31 if dull the 21 is black and white so you can see it clearly in bright sunlight

depends on how much you want to spend.
cheap m series palm, cheap to replace in you drop them.
palm treo phone handy for one thing to carry instead of 2.
i used a m100 for ages easy to use cheap as anything. moved to the tunsten,
now bought a treo 650 phone

got some for sale in the buy and sell section.
