Hi Slumpbuster
If you click the 'Help' button on the WCP toolbar it gives you a fairly comprehensive list on how to carry out the required tasks. The main topics you will need are as follows:

Rounds - Adding a round, Adding a job, Job order, moving a job to another round
Schedule - Selecting jobs, worksheets
Debts - Printing debts, Maintaining debts

The only part of the program not covered in the help section is the End Of Day button which is a case of clicking on it and it will show up a list of whatever you have on your worksheet for that day, you then simply click on whether each job was Done and if it was Paid, or if it was missed (option to input reason it was missed). The system then automatically updates your clean schedules and debt lists.

It is crucial this is done every day as some customers have told me their schedules are not being updated but they are not running the end of day....the program will only operate on the information you feed it.

I hope this helps

Brad

I can see a big money maker,..

Who's going to publish "WCP for Dummies" first?

:)

I'd buy it! I've used WCP for a good few months now, but I know I'm not using it to its full potential. A step by step "For Dummies" type guide would be very welcome.

Yes, thanks, that probably is helpfull. What i probably need to do is have a play with it, and then import a file.

I have about 500 live jobs and it's a bit scarey.

I notice a few, such as dave etc, talk of a gradual switch over.I presume this means running two sets of data.

I need to spend a few hours becoming familiar with it.Thanks for the reply, if i manage to figure it out i will send you a file to convert (thanks in advance), but last time i wasn't able to do it and had to go back to george.

Just seen nathaneal's comment and he does have a point.I stuggle with wcp, but accept that others find it easy.If you write it nathanael i will try it- or it could be another guild benefit.

Cheers Clive

We do have plans to do a PDF or a video tutorial in the near future. We are also going to put some info in the newsletter we will be sending each month from November...Brads Basic's and also Hannafords Helpful Hints.

Thing is some people use WCP in a different way from others so there is no generic format that everyone will like. A good example is a recent idea that instead of using the H:M to time jobs a customer now uses them for water litreage so he knows what he needs per day....damn good idea!

Clive....just an idea but if you are using George then send me a George backup file and i will convert it to a WCP database and return it to you. Then you can play with WCP as much as you want and you can always re-load the original database file to take you back to 'square 1'....its a good way to use, learn and play with WCP with no risk to your business, it'll only take a few hours to get used to it and it'll become second nature.

Then when you feel comfortable with it you can run it alongside George for a while and really see how your business will benefit (cos it will....!!!)

I showed my 14 year old daughter the basics and now she is quite able to use it...she refers to the help file now and then admittedly!

cheers.

I'm a bit of tight wad, but have any of you others (dave?) gone for the gold support at £60 a year?

For a dumbo like me this is probably worth it, what do the rest of you think?

Clive....have a look at the Support page on our website www.WindowCleanerPro.com for full information on Gold Support package. Bear in mind that you get the first month of Gold Support for free when you but WCP anyway but imho it is a damn good price for the support you get.

Heres a leading question for you Brad, would paying for "Gold support" get me a debt list on wcplite any quicker than I otherwise might expect cos this is a feature that I requested when I first purchased Wcp and have been led to believe its coming but I'm still waiting

Hi Chirs,

Debt list on the PDA is now done (and has been for a while). However I can't release it yet as it as the rest of the code base is still in development. Its quite a major change to the way customers, jobs, task, addresses and history are handled. With everything else that has been going on over the last 6 months we just have not had time to complete.

Thanks

Ian

its good that you are going to have a demo at the end of the year on your site ian, as i badly need it...i put a full round into my trial version and havent got the faintest clue as to what to do next........so i am going to wait till the demo comes out... as nat says a free copy of wcp for dummies will do, whichever appears 1st, i will def buy the full version when i know what it is i am supposed to do.

Best thing to do is give Brad a ring and he will walk you though it.

If you have 10 minutes this morning i will happily walk you through it on the phone or via Teamviewer. If you want to do a WCP backup iand send it to me at brad@windowcleanerpro.com then i will be able to use the exact same data you have there. Give me a call on 07889 206230 if you want to

Best regards
