Finally giving up on #george
« on: October 18, 2009, 11:25:40 am »
I am fed up to my back teeth with George, so now I am abandening it.

I have found about 3 bugs this week, each could potentially cost me money.

I believe a lot of this stems for the pre 2009 program, I dont think any new users will encounter these problems, I have a lot of job history on George which was pre 2009.

But as I said I have finally had enough.

Goodbye George

Dave I made the switch a while back, Ian and Brad are extremely helpful, they will also help you out transfering the information over from George to WCP.
Reaching parts traditional window cleaners can not reach.

Its a shame we cant have someone from George Programmes commenting on this,... its not good for any business including George,

I dare not upgrade to the latest version because of all the horror stories, losing work and money from the debt list.  ???

it seems to me that these programmes designed to make things easier, actually make things more complicated, there are threads about this all the time ,so this must be the case! ???

To be fair Paul told me about the problems, but i cant cope anymore.

We have a £5.00 job and a £200 debt appeared on there account, it happened on her job a couple of times, I deleted her job and set a new one up with a i instead of a 1,

Anyway after i done this the next job in the list accumulated a £310 debt from somewhere.

Also a £46 debt jumped up on £97.75 job. just had enough of putting fires out.

These are just a couple i have noticed, how many more have I not noticed, I have been sat here 3 hours now trying to sort things out, just had enough.

How can a job you clean each week, and hasnt paid you for a couple of months owe you £1400 then the debt reduces as you clean it.

God knows how much they actually do owe, think its about £200, but you never know.

Good isn,t it

Its not me is it, am i not seeing something on that screen shot.

I am cleaning it each week and the Fabricated debt decreases as I clean.

so instead of them paying me £11.50 there debt comes down by £11.50 each week.

I wanted a statement of account to post to the customer to prompt them into baying me, I cant even do that now, I will have to type one manually now, aaarrggghhhhhhh

I need a lie down

Dave there is someone's private mobile number on display - for your own reputation and company data handling protection can you remove or cover the details more!

I have got wcp pro lined up, I won a copy in a raffle a while back.

My problem is exporting the job history, debts etc, I will have to phase it in slowly.

i think they will tell you how to do it...

contact them and they will tel you which files too take over

you can leave george there for your history, just get the addresses and etc put into wcp and start fresh, id do that , its easier

I know what your saying , i have spoken to Brad.

I have over 2000 debts so its going to be quite a trauma.

I regularly send out statements etc, and always get enquirys, so it has to be gradual, as there is no way of importing the job history.

Hi

To be fair to 'George' and Paul, I have never had any serious issues with the program and the back-up has been second to none.  I've been using George for very early days.

I am sure Paul will respond with an explanation for the problems you are encountering - let's hope so.
