Hi Guys, I will be ordering my wfp kit today, gonna go diy as my bro is a windy also but he got his stuff about 3 years ago and I'm sure things have changed a bit since then... Any advice on makes etc..?

get 8mm hose for hose reel  is one tip.
if you get most of the stuff from one supplier you will get a discount, call purefreedom, ask for Andy and say Ian from window washers sent you, I have set up 2 van systems since I had them install my first. good bunch of guys but do not think they are open on weekends.

What are you planning on getting ?

Have you looked into
- pole sizes
- brushes
- tank size
- water storage
- trolley, backpack or van mount

Personally I would make a list up of what you want before you ring / order

 Got a list of all the things I need, Gonna be using a 650l ipc tank, gonna get 2 different pole sizes (18'ish and 24+@ish), I'm being cheeky and gonna use my Bro's water to begin with until I get my round upto speed, as ive only got 29 customers at the moment, which isnt too bad for 6 hours canvassing but need more!
 I have a renault traffic but would like to get a VW transporter asap.

I would say get an 18ft pole and a 30ft not a 24ft.

I would get a 650l tank baffled tank an ibc in your van with no baffles I would not recommend

why do say get the 8mm hose as a tip

because 6mm IMO is not good, costs me in time in the winter it froze quicker.

I think this winter Ian I will be using my backpack more then my van mount, just so I havent got my hose on the freezing ground, I have been told this could be a problem some days.

2 day last year my hose froze on the ground, and at the brush head, had to wait a couple of hours for temp to rise. all in all not bad out of a year, more important is making sure your pumps in van dont freeze, I killed a pump last year because of this. now empty when weather is cold but may just store vans inside from now on.

Following on from Matts advice about unbaffled tanks.

Buy 25m of 100mm land drain from a local builders merchants should cost you about £35, cut it into 4 lengths of approx 6m each then just feed them into the tank ( dont worry about which way they go in as they will coil up naturally ).

It will take you about 20 minutes and then you have a good cheap baffled tank.
