window cleaning combined with other businesses
« on: October 12, 2009, 11:09:15 pm »
Hi,

I have lots of little thoughts and ideas, mainly for when the retirement years come.

one is to build and build so my rounds will be run for me... (does anyone do this now?)

the other option i wanted to do before wc, is knock a bare shop up and turn it into a sandwich shop... and open it myself, then have someone run it...

do you guys have other aspirations?

or is this happening now for you?

also what do you think of my ambitions.

Thanks.

I must admit, the thought of opening a wfp shop wouldn't appeal. If i was gonna spend time in a shop, i would want a few more people walking the door than that could offer.
I would rather open a cafe, but that is hard work with fixed opening times. The thought of doing both over a long period of time doesn't appeal either.
I think cleaning windows for a handful of hours per week is one of the better options.
No stress of supervision. Will provide you fresh air and keep you active which will extend your healthy life. And will put a few quid towards leisurely pursuits.
Apart from keeping your finger into something that gets you out the house, the alternative is to wither away. Regardless of cash sitting in the bank.

Take on another house knock it into flats....have the tenants pay the mortgage and sell a flat when you retire and when you need some more cash sell the other flat...whatever happens it will still be worth what you paid for it when you retire and hopefully alot more.

Cheers
Dave.

sandwich shop is a good idea, adding other businesses to what you do is relatively simple. The keys to sucess i.m.o. are organisation and indentifying the right employees
