10yrs ago i was cleaning this blokes widows nice enough chap wore expensive clothes was paying me to clean windows for him weekly then i was charging him £15 wor a big house normal 8 windows so i got there one week startedthe  top window suddenly 2 police cars arrived took out a battering ram smashed the door down and took him away i said to the police bloke what was going on he replied drugs bust mate !!!
so i never got paid or never saw the bloke again

Got a custy who has a court appearance in Portugal end November. Her crime is "defamation of character".

"So what?"  I asked her, "you'll get a fine or something".

No says she: In portugal if found guilty (and she thinks she will be) it's a 4 month mandatory prison sentence

Don't worry about it as he should be out any day now knock on his door asking to clean his windows. With inflation i reckon you'd probably have a £35  job there.

I'm surprised that this is allowed really.
I would have thought that the authorities would keep coppers off the job where there might be personal issues due to potential conflict of interest.  Although I imagine you behaved professionally, if you had needed to testify in court on a crucial issue, the defence solicitors could have claimed that you were being less than honest due to a grievance about financial issues.  If there was doubt about guilt, a nugget like that could, under certain conditions, result in non-conviction of a guilty party.

whenI firststarted 17 yrs ago, I knocked a door while canvassin, and a german sheperd came running rom the garden and attaked me ........ i pannicked and in self defense I BOOTED IT. to my relief it yellped and scarpered.... the owner then came out and lamped me with a huge punch OWCH
