telescopic ladders ?
«

Hi, i use wfp full time, i have no roof rack on my transit van. so when i clean a con roof, i put one half of a set of ladders in my van, in fact i leave them in, tied to the side of my van,
but they overhang my passenger window, bit of a problem, but i get by...
but now i am putting a bulkhead in the van so the ladder will not fit,
do any of you guys use telescopic ladders for the odd con roof, or foldaway ladders,?
if so , are they sturdy and light to handle, ?
thanks
Gary.

I use them to get over gates or something very quick duration.
Im still not 100% on them, ive had it go once luckily when climbing - i guess it didn;t lock into place properly.
when trad i used them for rear of terraced housing. (no longer do those types of properties anymore to much hassle).
id use some foldaway ones if your using them for longer duration work.

Phone and sim got damaged so was without it for a week or so. Same number though - ending in 714. Drop me a text now and I'll see if it comes through.

I have a set of Altrex telescopic ladders and they are the dog's..great for getting over garages etc....I would not be without them...it's amazing how much time I save not getting the main ladders of the top of the van and re-mounting them.
I feel safe on them..
Cheers
Dave.

Each weekend when I clean out the SL-X the telescopic ladders get a wash out too...but you're right they can get 'gritty'.
Cheers

I use a telescopic, it has its good and bad points. It takes up virtually no room in the van and is so quick and easy to use. The downside for me is that I don't really have much confidence in the feet. They're not rubber feet, but a hard plastic, which I imagine would slip very easily if on the wrong surface or if ladder at wrong angle. I got it on ebay, maybe there are better ones available. Having said that, it hasn't slipped yet!
