part time cleaners how many
« on: October 07, 2009, 09:01:41 pm »
just thinking after asking a freind of mine about his windows he replied theirs 3 window cleaners do my street already :o [all traditional] he speaks to all three.
i was wondering how many on here are full time cleaners how many part time just making a bit extra, how do full time cleaners feel about part timers who may be in it for completly differant reasons ie not earning a living from it maybe not paying taxes but maybe preventing you earning a good living.
im not trying to start ww3 just wondering thats all, theres loads of windows out there but if the industry becomes so saturated maybe some kind of registration would be a good thing your thoughts please.

Part timers could pay tax and full timers not, too. Not much you can do about competition, that`s the problem with a free market economy  ;D.
It`s not our job to police those operating illegally either.

I started part-time for 5 months to test the water.  The idea was to save the money from part-time and buy wfp system but got made redundant feb 09 so used that money for a set up etc and now im full time and the rest is history, never looked back since.

It was my intention to work 1-2 days a week on the windows for the next few months, but I find out on Friday if I have a job or not so it could be full time as of Monday :-\

Its like retained-firefighter-city round here. They live here, breed here and work out the back of their estate motors too. The last one I spoke to had a 250 litre water tank in the back of his car, not strapeed down, fixed or secured in any way. I thought if you have a prang mate its your full-time colleagues that'll be coming to pull you from the wind-screen. Bloomin liability, I bet theyre uninsured driving like that.

They do get on my nerves. Think I might buy a second-hand fire-engine.
