Online Shop
« on: September 27, 2009, 10:47:28 pm »
The wifes just added an online shop to the website to see if we can tempt anyone, although the store page is not quite the right size yet (she's still working on it) I just wondered is this something any one else as done and if so how do they find it?

Your top header pic doesn't fit the page when I view it, looks like 2 office building pics just stuck next to each other but doesn't reach the page width ? where you aware of this problem ? or does it show fine with your browser.

You've got 65 pages full of products, but no categories.  From tyre shine to buckets. Nothing is in order. You need categories, because people can't be bothered looking through 65 pages, if they just need a micro fibre cloth. Sorry to be harsh, but people spend no more than 10 seconds on a web site, if it's not easy to understand.

Don't get me wrong Jimmy, she's done a fantastic job, I know how long it takes to upload things, but according to stats, ppl spend less than 10 seconds on a web site to find things.

Try looking for a certain thing on Google and you very quickly get the pi..ed o.. feeling if the page doesn't load or you find no categories on a certain page.

Know what you mean, no point in doing it if people don't stop and shop lol. I'm sure it'll take her a while yet.

Good idea Jimbo  just a small question.would it not be wise to sell market related products( related to your business) I would like to see how these none related products will do on your web site, who can tell, they might sell the most
Good luck

Are you dropshipping these products?
If you are then add as many products as you want, but if you are sourcing the productsa nd stocking them then i would personally aim at the market you are servicing.
Good luck though.

Drop shipping through Amazon, it cost nothing for me to have on website and if people buy then Ive gained. Will trial it for 6 months or so anyway.

agreed,

dont take this the wrong way Jimmy, just personal opinion, but i just hate sites that have google adverts and other type of features.

Plain and simple sites are far the best to navigate - if i come across sites that are advertising or other stuff and its thrown in with the general webpage contents or its not easy to navigate, im off looking for another site..

Hi Jimmy,

You should always check spelling on a website. I just had a quick look at you 'Gutter Cleaning' page and spotted 2 spelling mistakes in the top half of the page. I can only assume that there are possibly more throughout the website.

Good Luck!

Jimmy.....
I hope you dont mind me pointing this out,but on your before and after pics on the gutter cleaning you show some dirty and clean facsias and soffits but the downpipe is still dirty.I think you should have shown that clean as well.
It is easy to remedy in photoshop, and if it is to much hassle for you then send me the after pic by email and i will use photoshop to clean the image up for you.

Dan ;)
