Any tried or thought of putting insulation behind ply lining panels of van, wondered if this would give any protection from frost?

yes ive got insulation behind the lining and it makes so much diffrance never had a problem with frost since doing this .

I've got insulation on the roof too,.. 2" rigid foam with foil on each side. It's awkward to cut to size & fit but it does make a huge difference.

I have it in one of my vans and really does not make much difference at all because I didnt do the roof :
I am thinking of lifting all pipe work off the floor soon and see if this helps at all, lost about 10 hours last year due to frozen system pipes

ive used loft insulation which i think as done a great job , what really needs to be looked at is what part of the country you come from as some get worse weather than others .
what you got to lose by insulating your van anyway the price of insulation is cheap so give it a go you aint going to lose out .

i would like to show you photos but i really dont fancy taking my plylining off .
its a bit like doing cavity wall insulation , with the van wall being the brick and the ply being the block then filling in between with your insulation .

I put a load of 2nd hand asbestos in mine. found it in a skip.

It stopped the system freezin' but i got one hell of a cough now that i can't get rid of!

Any suggestions?

Use any remaining off-cuts to insulate your lunchbox. This will also give you peace of mind in protecting your lunch if your van catches fire.

Have made will, and tried to set van on fire, but it won't light!

instead of doing the whole van what about just doing all the static pipes just for the winter

only downside to the loft insulation is the moisture gets trapped behind it and will rot the van

the best is the polystyrene as air can flow around and polystyrene doesnt absorb moisture
