Tim uses the one sold on websites, and his poles last a lot longer than mine because he keeps things clean.

What i have against these is that they add weight to the pole.

I rejected the idea some time ago but lately I'm getting sick of dragging all the excess pole hose about. Now that the SLX has grown there's even more of it to twist on itself and snag. Maybe I'll lash something up myself and give it a try.
