Hi Sean
You definately make more money on the tools and have a soooo much less stressful time of things
But and its a but that suits some and not others, employing is far more hassle but can be so rewarding too.
Most employers may agree that 90% of their team be it 5 staff 500 staff or 5000 staff are great employees it is just that little minority that puts people off employing. Similar to the clients we all have again 90% are great to work with/for they pay on time they appreciate how hard a task it is and they look to help not critisice and then there are the other ones.
Apart from helping others which I believe we should all try to do the reason I continue to employ is the same as when i started window cleaning. I was quite good and wanted to be a better w/c, i wanted to do bigger higher harder ...i like a challenge and I see employing as a challenge
The law is against you the staff are out for what they can get your clients want to pinch your good staff etc etc etc.................but do you know what drives me on

? i want to win.
The Gov.uk website is a good source of employers advice and the job centre are good too but the thing that really helps me to employ is to understand the importance of the staff. They are not as important as the system.
I know I know I spent years in management being taught staff this people that but it is not true
Don't believe me read it for yourself its called The E-Myth check it out online a very good w/c businessman and friend intriduced this to me and wow it makes things so clear
Good luck with the tools
