Age 22 and over from £5.73 to £5.80
Age 18 to 21 from £4.77 to £4.83
Age 16 and 17 from £3.53 to £3.57

I agree but,

Most of the big boys in the Commercial Cleaning sector pay minimum rate. They are doing well. And seem to be wining contracts.

I agree. But in my experience (with a well-known supermarket chain) they get mainly eastern European workers with little or no English and have terrible trouble recruiting and retaining their staff.

It depends on what type of outfit you want to run.

How many really profitable and dynamic companies do you know who pay minimum wage? I don't know any.

How many miserable and moribund companies do you know who pay minimum wage? All of them.

Go figure.

Maybe winning contracts but how good is the service? we all know that big contracts are poorly maintained.
