How quick are you producing water?
« on: September 15, 2009, 06:31:28 pm »
Hi,just put a 125psi pump on my system now, producing water at 2min 20sec a ltr. Thought it might be a bit faster than this though. Does this seem about right? Its a 200gpd system, used to take about 14hrs to make 100 ltrs,it was woefully slow!! Should be about 3 1/2 hours now for 100 ltrs.

200gpd systems are for fish tanks don`t let anyone talk you into thinking they will produce enough for window cleaning, get a 40x40 and be done with it you won`t need anything else.

A 200gpd is fine for my needs.I just got a similar pump to you Jarvy and funnily enough am now producing exactly the same amount-1litre every 2 minutes 20.That produces enough for what I need over night.

thats the dangerous thing on forums, they let people post stuff like this

so a 200 GPD RO will be no good for window cleaning

thats just rubbish

its not a competion, oooooooo look at mine, its 10 " when semi hard, a full foot when its a stonker

its like the school playground

its about the amount of water you use, its fairly simple, mr Smith might only use 200 L per day, so he doesnt need a 40X40 which makes 200 L in 1 hour

fairly easy to understand

If you can make water quick enough you don`t need to have it going 24-7,if your only getting such a small amount of water per hour from a 200gpd unit how much do you think your chucking down the drain. The water pressure out of the tap won`t alter no matter what Ro your using, the smaller RO unit will waste so much water it`s a joke.

I can`t see that mate if it`s on for that long over the course of the day the sums don`t add up,a 600ltr tank over that time. You must be chucking a lot more than that down the drain.
