I had considered using Google streetview to give ballpark quotations!

The image gives you a good idea of the house, and if there are hidden difficulties around the back, you warn the customer you may adjust your quote to allow for them.

Theres a crowd round here leafleting  giving quotes for gutter cleans over the phone.

Bens gutters. You'd be mad to try to give a quote for anything over the phone. Satellite technology or not.

bens gutter has had his leaflets put out in are local free paper.if you look at it its a national flyer.

I was speaking to the neighbour of one of my custys yesterday who'd had a quote from Bens Gutters, they had quoted him £200 for emptying and cleaning the outsides of his gutters on a 2 bed terrace house, with conservatory. Not bad £200 for an hours work!!

i was watching a firm round my way a while back, they must have got a few gutter clearing jobs after they flyered everywhere, £99+VAT.
they had 2 ladders and a Platform that fit between the 2 ladders, bit like a scaff tower a the top.
well it took em half an hour messing about getting this platform up, and 10mins to do the gutters.

I received 2 leaflets for "Ben's gutters" in Bournemouth!

I rang to check their price, £130 for 2 runs of 16ft, with no sides to do!

He couldn't confirm the other houses they were doing when asked the numbers either!

Those platforms are called cripples, they are used by gutter and fascia companies when they inistall guttering etc.
I wouldn't trust them.
I use a pressure washer and a 24ft lance on the gutters and fascias.

I have used google street view to give estimates, its ok for some small jobs that are not worth the drive down to price up, but I would not reccomend for larger jobs.

Just tell'em 35 quid a metre and if you find any eggs in the gutter, another 35 quid. Oh, and don't forget, if you use Google earth, it's another 3 quid for the internet connection.
