I've been trying this on upvc to remove blood stains caused by monster spiders. Initially it seemed to work reasonably well and have even used some on persistant stains and algae on gutters. However, I used some on a sill the other day and it left a brownish stain that I couldn't remove. It was cillit bang stain remover.
Anyone found anything better?

i use CIF  , and a  small bottle of it rides around in my bucket . i put a dash of it onto a wet rag and get scrubbing . then wipe off and buff at the same time with the scrim cloth . one shop fascia  i do with this every fortnight and  its not scratched the  pvc a bit .

I've since found that bleach and upvc don't go together that well so may go down the ciff route instead (or not bother at all). Proper upvc creams don't seem to touch these stains either.

are these garden spiders? sortof  light brown with a pattern on the back and a big belly ?  iv seen a lot of them this last week  in the corner of frames

Lesser spotted gut juice crapping ones!
I half squashed one yesterday and it fell to the floor. Next thing a huge great spider shoots out from under the door sill, attacks it and turned the injured one round then sank its fangs into it!

Yep, but doesn't touch stains though.
Just got in from a minging gutter clean. The gutters had moss spots all over them too, my tfr which is mixed far too strong anyway wouldn't touch it. In the end a squirt of upvc cleaning cream on the brush head worked a treat. Frothed up a fair bit too but did the job.

went into a upvc window fitting place a couple of years ago and bought some cream cleaner £4 litre there own brand fab stuff never let me down

Never, never, never, never go near uPVC with bleach 


I don't know the exact science of it but it reacts with the uPVC, the stain you have made has been drawn out of the plastic and you will never be able to remove it.

You need to find a place that supplies windows to the trade and buy some uPVC solvent cleaner pretty much the best stuff you can use OR in extreme cases you can use 000 grade wire wool

no never put bleach on upvc it will turn it yellow and you'll never get it back again

solvent cleaner perfect and also made for upvc windows but not on woodgrain
