Just wondering if any of you have a large amount of shops windows and how often and how much do you charge.
Was also thinking about the likes of burger kings and subway and the shopping centre
I got some shops today but they are just an average window and door. Ive charged them inside and out at £3 every week but was thinking about getting more

yeah it seems his construction business is constructing window cleaning rounds.
Charging £3 for in and out is way to cheap, i wouldnt even do the outsides for £3.
The shops i do which are similar to yours start at £5 for outside or £10 for in and out and are weekly.
If they want a regular quality service they will pay, Dont sell yourself short!!

I want to sell the rounds but i wouldnt mind doing some shops so i can go working earlier then if there are any meetings etc i can plan the day better and i can cut back on employment . All i need to do now is set the H&S ploicy with the chamber of commerce - we are currently pending the Iso standard certificate then we are ready to tender for work
Got Lanzarote in 3 weeks so the once i get back we are going to be tendering for jobs -

UKICM is doing ours. It costs £2300+vat
You get an inspection to see your current procedures then they help you to get to the standard required. The fee is all you pay because if you fail to get the certificate they have failed you so all retests are then free.
It can take from 5 weeks to 3 months to get qualified but you can apply for jobs as long as you state in the PQQ the status is pending - We are now considerate contractor certified also but the time for the ISO depends on what procedures you currently have
The 2 we need are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 which is for quality management procedures and environmental waste but the inspector is only coming to visit us in 7 weeks when im back off hols

They know my position and experience etc and they reckon it wont be a problem but if they do need previous experience my business partner has worked for allen build and now vinci construction. Hes also why the banks said they would back us - They would never lend to me alone

Pratinum, you don't need ISO 9001, you need a check on reality

i just thought the ISO was like the highest standard, i though was given to the company and not the person which would mean the would need previuos work done by rockware ltd???
it seems easier than i thought though it has always put me off about the time involved ect but i may look into it further.
so are you subbing out all the work or getting employees and dealing with it in house?

Its a requirement on the PQQ for the clients to show your have the correct procedures to handle the project Its accredited to the company but from what i know previous experience isnt required all we have to do is make up a job ie building a porche then show the procedures carried out from chasing the contract to selecting the tenders and checking they are adequate for the job then completing the job while reducing the carbon emissions etc the build and say thats what we do - if they need changing we are advised and monitored then inspected again if we meet the requirements we are accredited
