Office Internal Glass
« on: September 08, 2009, 06:57:02 pm »
Hi All,
just got a contract to clean all the internal glass of 2 floors of an office block. Each floor has about 80 panes of glass and then there are sectioned off offices with glass walls about 8ft high.
Whats the best way to clean these? i would personally use trad mop and squeege with extension pole.
Just was wondering if there is anything better and faster to use.

It would be worth using a wagtail flipper on a pole even if it's just for the top half.  Less drips and now swapping mop and blade about.

Simon.

I have just bought a Vikan Easy Clean system from Gardiners, it does low level windows for 30 pounds, you should buy one and try it, then if happy buy a high level system, Baudoin supply one of these, but are not the only ones.

Anything up to about 3m I use my cut down gate ladder with ladder mitts on the stile tops.
It's a game of three halves!

I have been looking at the vikan easyshine kit on Gardiners website, is it actually faster than trad or is it you just get less mess.
Also been looking at Baudoin, does Baudoin have any suppliers in the uk as i see they are based in the netherlands and cant find any prices on their website.

I am interested in these products if they are actually faster and make my job easier.

The actual cleaning will be a piece of wiss but you're gonna have problems with things up against the glass in offices: Desks, filing cabinets, plants, photo-copiers, calendars stuck to the glass...the list is almost endless.

Do yourself a HUGE favour and inform the compamy that you need unimpeded access to the glass (in other words move all the stuff away from it and take down holiday charts, calendars etc etc).
