Bank Holiday Monday?
« on: August 31, 2009, 12:07:01 pm »
Had a lovely swim with my daughter, hung out the washing, opened up the conservatory doors and relaxing with the paper and a cup of coffee. Ten minutes later a van pulls up next door and out comes a neanderthol who fires up an angle grinder and starts stone cutting next door  ::)
"haven't you heard of a bank holiday monday then?" I shouted at him
"I'm self employed - got to pay the effing bills haven't I?"
Great, that's my afternoon ruined I'd just as well go cleaning then.

Angle grinder and curcular saw going next door too. Builders rushing to finish the job.

They have been their 8 months. At first no weekend work was to take place.....now...anything goes!

Should have gone out myself now.

Oh well. still nice to have a bit of time off.

My partner and I stayed here for one week at the beginning of July and wished we had booked for two, we will definitely be returning next year.

On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly manager and taken downstairs to the restaurant to have a bite to eat before bed which was really nice. We then went upstairs to our room, which was spotless and had an amazing view of the ocean.

The pool was the best we've ever been in- it was lovely having a shallow bit to lie in to cool down from the sun and the area around the pool was spotless.

We were half board but paid to go all-inclusive for drinks which was about £15 each per person per day but well worth it- we definitely got our money's worth as all drinks are included...milkshakes, slushes, water, and most importantly very nice cocktails!

The food there was AMAZING.... at breakfast you had so much choice- fresh fruit, yoghurt, cooked breakfast (which my very fussy husband really enjoyed!), pancakes, freshly squeezed juice, cereals...the list goes on...

Dinner at night was fabulous too- with a good choice of meals. What really made it for me though were the desserts- they were the most amazing desserts ever it felt a shame to cut into them! Wish I had taken a picture of them to prove how lovely they looked (and also tasted!)

The location is pretty good, just a short bus drive away from Paphos town; as the bus service there is so good we were happy to pop onto the very regular buses into town a few times to have a wander about. As the other reviews have noted there isn't really much of a beach at the hotel but Coral Bay is only a short bus ride away (so I'm told...we were so impressed by the pool area we never made it to the beach!)

What really made the hotel was the staff there- always smiling, friendly and very attentive- it was heaven being brought drinks whilst lounging in the sun! Duke and Claire (the entertainments team) were fab too and there was always something to do.

As the other reviews note, the clientele who stay at this hotel are slightly older, however my partner and I are both 27 and we had a fab time there, it just had a lovely atmosphere.

Can't wait to go back next year!!
