Hard floor dust cloths supplier?
« on: May 16, 2005, 12:34:17 pm »
Hello there, I have just registered and would like a little help/advice please.

I need to find a supplier of re-usable cloths for dry mopping of hard floors for dust control.  We work in historic interiors, therefore cannot use any chemicals or water for our regular cleaning regime.  Until now we have used "vapwipes" supplied by Marshalls for the Interchange system.  However they are no longer being manufactured. I am interested in microfibre technology and am willing to completely review how we do this work.  We have tried a disposable cloth before however it lints heavily, is not very efficient and works out as a high cost over time.

Our criteria for floor cloths are:
- re-usable and washable
- lint free
- Chemical free and for dry use
- low cost (we probably get through about 100 cloths per week at the moment and currently can use both sides before laundering!)
- Mops must be highly agile to fit closely around and under valuable historic furniture without bumping or scratching (it is too risky to keep moving furniture).
- able to cope with slightly rough / uneven floors.  As the building is listed and a scheduled monument there are major restrictions on floor finishes.

We supplement our dry dusting with various nilfisk vacuum cleaners, however I don't have the resources to just vacuum every day.

Thanks,

Helen
