Down your street magazine
« on: August 27, 2009, 07:18:43 pm »
Has anybody had any contact with these guys?

They rang me about 5 months ago asking if I wanted to advertise in their mag,

I said no as I couldnt do the work id got and they said theyd send me a sample through of an advert to see what I thought,

Ok I said,

About a month later I get a bill for £115 for advertising services, obviously I didnt pay it as Id agreed to nothing,

After numerous threatening letters about CCJs and extra costs which they put the bill at £265 it went quiet.

Today I got another call for the £115.

I told them to get stuffed.

Anyone dealt with these clowns???

that happen to me 6 years ago, they dont care if you get blacklisted, i took it to court and win, what they are doing is illegal, to prove anything from there side, they must have a recording, and they must be heard, asking your permision to tape the conversation, its the law, thats how i win  ;D

you can tel them that, but they can and will blacklist you, stoping you getting any credit in the future, if they have sent you a bill already, and here is the tricky bit, they sell the debt of, and this so called debt can be sold on several times to debt collectors, making it harder to clear your name, once they have made a few million, they open up in a new name, and start all over again, and they get away with it,

There's a company in Ireland doing the same "Selling" wall calenders with your advert on, supposedly they're distributed to 30,000 businesses in your area,..

They play dirty by saying its for charity,.. send you a bill even if you refuse to take up their (fake) offer, and then get really nasty when trying to get you to pay up because what kind of monster would refuse to pay up the money they've promised the starving kiddies,.....

I had the same happen to me about 6 years ago. It was for a magazine that was distributed around personnel of the emergency services, the title was something along the lines of ring the bell, i can't quite remember. I said I wasn't interested and they said they would send me a copy anyway. I got it along with a bill for 100 and something quid. I sent the bill back along with a letter saying that I never placed an order by recorded delivery and never heard anything ever again.

I have had numerous others trying to sell me space for charities and schools.

I have learned my lesson and now I just say no thank you and hang up as soon as I know it is not a customer ringing.
