Printcarrier. Good or bad?

Hi guys, another question!! Sorry  ;D

over the last week or so you guys have helped me decide if I'm too cheap, if I should put prices on my leaflet and given me feedback on the leaflet itself! now that's all sorted I'm looking to get them printed. (finally :))

has anyone used printcarrier for printing? They seem extremely cheap and was wondering what the print quality and service is like?

A couple of guys on here recomended them as the cheapest just thought I'd see what peoples experience with them has been like?

Hi Mark
I get all my leaflets from them. Fast service, excellent quality. Cannot fault them and it has always been hassle free. Sometimes their website plays up a bit but they usually sort it fairly quickly. Highly recommended!

Never used them myself but i hear good reports from the like of john so i would go with them.

Might get some postcards printed from there myself instead of bus cards ;)

how do you design your leaflet on this site or do you design it yourself and then upload it to them ???

i designed mine in microsoft publisher, saved it as a jpeg and uploaded to here.

get a local designer to knock one up for you in pdf format (bout £50) then upload it to printcarrier.
i usually knock one up myself then get a designer to tidy it up for me so it looks more pro.

I sent my five around post card, they emailed me it was the wrong size, which it wasnt :-\ :-\

2 out of 5 jobs i have complained and got a partial refund.

there are cheap but a pain in the asrss to deal with.

i've already knocked one up my self on microsoft word.

av kept my leaflets very simple and to the point but everything you need to know ie name and contact details, a coulple of before and after pics and what i use (machine & eco chems etc).

no offers, no price list.

The trouble with them is the RISK of getting it wrong and you end up with 10k worth of postcards on your doorstep that are totally useless. If you get it right you can't beat the quality for the price.

Hiya

Im afraid using programs like Microsoft Word and Publisher are no good for Printcarrier. I think programs like that have an output of only 150dpi maximum and no good for high quality printing (you need a program that will enable the output file to be at the very minimum 300dpi). I use Adobe Photoshop which is far from easy to use if your a newbie but once you get the hang of it you can create some very impressive looking material!

Hi john, when creating in publisher your quite right the dpi is relatively low however if you click save as, select jpg as file type and change resolution to commercial printing 300dpi, all is fine. The problem im finding having spoken to printcarrier today is that most progrms show colours using rgb format (red gren blue) rather than cmyk format which is what the printers all use. I have converted the colours to cmyk in publisher however pc monitors still display in rgb so i have no idea on how they will actually print! nightmare. shouldnt be too diferent but as said, its a risk!

Hiya

When I first started using printers they pretty much all said that Microsoft products were a nightmare to use as the output was always RGB and never CMYK. Better, more powerful software makes it much easier to convert in to whatever format you require.

try searching ebay for printer ive found a guy/company 110gsm double sided black and white for 10,000 leaflets 70 quid including delivery
