Hi folks

looking to get a bit of advice if i may!

I'm starting a squat/void property/drug den clean up business and i've got most of the things in place however i'm looking for a decent vac machine. my budget is around the 300/400 mark however if anyone can recommend a good wet dry vac i can push that to 500.

i'm not looking to aim for the professional carpet cleaning you guys are are experts and there's no way i could go into such detail. its going to be hoovering the carpets to take out as much as i can - i'll be fogging the rooms to decontaminate the house.

with the wet aspect of the vac i'd be hoovering up pigeon guano too - attractive i know!

i'll have a hepa air scrubber in so hepa isnt a 101% requirement but if it happens to have it then fair do.

I would sub contract the carpet cleaing side of the process out mate.

You really can't expect much for the sort of money you've got!

For just vacuum cleaning I would get a new Henry and a new Sebo BS36. Total at discounted prices say £300.
Forget about wet cleaning the carpets at your budget - get a pro in as already suggested.

I use the henry extra which comes with the power brush attacment. Works brilliantly. Definity sub contract the cleaning part as if it's your company reputation on the line you want every finished job to be excellent if you want repeat business. Failing that you need to invest in a decent machine and training. Prochem worked well for me.

As Joe says definitely go for a Sebo BS36 upright and I would suggest a Numatic WV370-2 as a compact wet / dry vac.

Where are you based, we might be able to help you out.

I'm in lancashire - what i need the wet aspect for is the pigeon guano and clearing up any muck left over from "human liquids"

i just actually realised i do need a HEPA filter one after all. i've been looking around

are the ones with the HEPA filters true hepa or not? or would i have to invest in a true hepa one? i've seen a true hepa one for around the 375 mark

i actually dont mind sub-contracting the carpet work out if thats what the client wants for it to be absolute clean rather than vacuum'd clean, thats not an issue. i realise my limitations and if what the client wants exceeds that then so be it - we'll have to work around that.

Im lost here now.
You want to get into squats and drug den etc where you know its really filthy with pigeon stuff and body fluids and you looking at a wet/dry vac.
That is no where near a carpet cleaning machine - it just sucks either dry or wet debris.
Are there carpets to clean?
Or is it just general cleaning you looking to do.?
You did mention carpet cleaning in your first post so I have assumed carpet cleaning is needed.
If so, and the places are really bad like you say, then you need to be spending thousands on a carpet cleaning machine, together with relevant cleaning fluids.
Contract it out - sounds like you havnt got the money to invest.
