Hello All!!
Great forum, I am just ploughing my way through the post on start ups and finding them very helpful!
I am looking to start my own domestic/commercial cleaning business but not sure if its the right time due to the recession etc. Are all you guys still getting work? Look forward to chatting to you all!

Every house needs cleaning, thats a fact.
All you have to do is find those who are willing to pay someone to clean theirs so they have more time to themselves and their families.
To some this means a lot - you need to find them.
Obviously some people may be concerned about losing their job, but their are plenty who are secure.
Dont forget those who are on atracker mortgage will have more disposable income as interet rates have tumbled - latch into that market.

As Joe says, but -and i'm sorry to nit pick- do be wary of assuming that people only want a cleaner to help out because they don't have the 'time'. A lot of people have the time to do it but would simpky prefer to pay someone else to do it because they dont like housework. A lot of people are too ill to do their own work, but may have more than enough time to do it. I say this as one of my clients who is too ill to clean was most insulted by an advert she received which suggested that by having 'help' she'd now have the time to read a book or play tennis (those were the exact suggestions on the advert she was sent).
She was really upset, saying that she'd give anything to be well enough to look after herself.
Because of this, i am always wary of 2nd guessing why people have cleaners.
There is much work about so i wish you all the best.
