Poor workmanship
« on: August 15, 2009, 08:31:12 am »
Picking up work from other wfp operators this last week. Get the phonecall and go out to quote "I don't want that pole rubbish mind - that's what the last cleaner used. I came home from work and the windows were filthy with dirty water all over the cills, I had to clean them all again"
I don't know who it is but he's giving the rest of us a bad name. I picked this customer up from another customer - she was around his house and couldn't believe how clean his windows looked.

i think some people rush in with wfp and think they can clash them off in no time , although i must admit i have made mistakes in the beginning but custys have been good enough to let me know and i have cleaned windys for free and asked them to contact me if they are not happy still got same custys , apart from one who came out ranting and raving and refused to let me apologise and try rectify my mistakes

this is what happens when greedy people go to clean as many houses as they can in a day so they can brag about it regardless of what state the leave the windows in.

but to be honest I love them as I keep picking up new work because of them and even in most cases I charge more but customers are happy to pay when they see the results.

Keep up the bad work guys, your paying for my 2nd van  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Was asked to price a house up the other day, the wc couldn't do the window above the conservatory, when I got there I find out that he is wfp but is now doing a really bad job, the window above the con has to be done trad from the inside, but he's leaving spots galore on all the other windows.

As I'm pricing I see a wc doing a block of flats and literally doing one pass no rinse no frames, you couldn't walk around the flats much faster than he was cleaning them. I was doing some work around the corner the next day so had a look and pretty much half of them had come up really bad, but then other stretches were good.

He might be a victim of the over-hype of wfp which still continues day in, day out on forums like this one.

Like cleaning a "standard 3 bed semi" ::) in 6 minutes from pulling up to driving off!!!!

Or, how so much more he's gonna earn with wfp

How easy wfp is

Plus all the other over-enthusiastic crap that's spewed on to our screens! ;)

Yep ive picked up from trad and wfp.

I think people get wfp and just dont have a clue what to do and dont bother finding out
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

I picked up 4 nice big detached houses in a private road from a bad wfp'er this week. Waiting on the rest of the street to email or phone me next week. I love wfp'ers who haven't got a clue ;D

Its becoming a real problem lately people not wanting wfp due to bad experiences.. its becoming harder to get people to give you a chance, and having to spend more time explaining how it works and what happens if you dont do it properly.

And its mainly because wfpWC's dont do the frames just the glass.  ::)

It can also be very hard & a lot slower than trad, depending on circumstances! After 5.5 years wfp I still do plenty of trad! ;)

Well said (again)!

2 years WFP - and if I give my own windows a 'quick going over', I often see 'spotting' or 'runs' from 'double openers'

That's why I never rush a customer's windows - and can leave 'with confidence' 99% of the time.
