[Lakes and Pennine]

Well after 24 years mining, 22 as a hewer I had a closer call today from falling rock as a concrete window bottom came tumbling down at me

Councill house, bathroom window, done it for 5 yrs now. Just touched the sill with my pole as i skirted the bottom of the window and the window bottom came tumbling down at me.

For a bit was hoping they wouldnt blame me, but just laughed it off and I said good job it was me under it and not a kid.

Could see cracks on the wall when I looked afterwards and then I looked at the kitchen sill on bottom floor and I could lift it.

On other side accross road, the lady of the house went out, as usual about 3 houses before I get to hers. She was chin wagging to neighnbor oppisit but as I statred to clean here house her little  lad was shoutingf accross the road 'theres a man at our house mam!!! and he's doing something to the windows!!! Mam!' I was killing myself. I was the one she wanted to avoid....
