SLX clamps tip 2
« on: August 05, 2009, 07:14:58 pm »
My first tip was to re attach with electrical tape when the whole clamp comes off.

My second tip is to put some bright tape(or flouresent paint if there is such a thing) on the cams and screws so that when these come off-and they will- they can be found easier.

What on earth are you doing to your pole?  :)

The cams and screws have never come off the poles in our vehicle.

I am very heavy on equipment, my xtels all have clamps that come adrift. A cam and corresponding bolt have come off mine about three times now. Each time requiring a ten to twenty  minute search of grass to find them. As posted my solution will be to put some colourfull tape on so that they can be noticed easier.

I can see that 'inventing problems that don't exist' is not helpful. And if i am in a very small minority of 'pole vaulting' users and no one else has this problem then i apologise. Buying an slx has been one of the best decisions i ever made, so anyone reading this don't let these comments detract from that.
