Hi, Just had delivery of a WCW backpack, poles etc.
Can anyone give me some useful tips or essential info to prevent problems.

Open it up and take a look is what I would suggest. Best to know what your dealing with than wonder what's there should something go wrong.

Handy things to have with a wcw backpack are....

Pozzy driver
A couple of spare fuses

Had a fuse go on mine and would have been up and running again in 5mins had I a spare.

Cracking piece of kit are the wcw backpacks.

I've had to take mine apart a couple of times as the connecters have worked themselves off the battery.
maybe worth investing in some better ones and dont cost much.

Thanks guys just what i was after.
Nearly sent it back when the instructions said you had to be mentally fit to operate it!
Was reading that the pump is on a one minute on and one minute off run, whats that all about then?
Do you turn off the tap when moving from window to window or just leave it running?

had no instructions with mine .with my loose connecters i taped them on .

in other words if you get chatting with a custy, the backpack will switch itself off saving your battery

The wcw backpacks don't turn themselves off, they keep going till you switch it off. Is it the yellow colured one you got ?

I use mine all day as I don't have a van system. It does me 10 houses a day. I tend to put it on charge before I go to bed, though there has been a few occasions I've forgot and its done me the whole next day too. Don't know if it would run for a third day though.

Yes its the bright yellow one, pretty impressive.
Got the unger poles which are nice and light and 4 x 25 litre drums which will do me.
So if I understand it right, just charge it for 14hrs initially then after each use.
The charger goes onto a maintainance charge once its full.
Then fill up with pure 000tds and off you go?

Depends on how much your going to use it really.

You just using wfp or is this for hard to reach windows and trad for the rest ?

WFP upstairs trad downstairs, about 12 houses per day 3/4 bedrooms, cheers.

just remember to charge it up every day

If you fit a tap/valve to your pole when you turn that off it will stop the backpack pump .
the wcw backpack when fully charged will easy do 400 ltrs of water before re charging .
if you need a spare battery you can get these from maplins .

Extend the hose by about 2m otherwise if you have it on the ground and have the pole fully extended you cant lift the pole very high, If you have your tap on your pole or a trigger you will definatly not have enough hose as standard. I dont use mine as a backpack but more of a trolley without wheels.

I don't carry mine on my back either. 16L of water plus the weight of the backpack itself.... No thanks. I just use the handle

Im looking at buying a backpack but i want a spare battery to take with me to make sure that i can stay out 6-8 hours. Wondering if anyones had trouble with them overheating or anything along them lines

You talking 6 - 8 hours solid work ?

Only problem I've had is the fuse went once. Carry a spare and a pozzy driver and your up and running in 5 mins.
