New Legislation
« on: July 31, 2009, 01:08:11 pm »
You might have read my post regarding car valeting
I have sinse found out that a new Uk legislation being enforced means wheelie bin cleaners and car valeters need to re-use water instead of letting it go down the drains
Im just asking if anyone has heard this and secondly do you think it will be enforced on window cleaners?

Im looking at a new concept from the US which involves waterless car valeting which will beat the legislation

Here did you "hear" about this new legislation?

Hopefully not the company promoting the product?

Have you a link to that recycling product by any chance?

You might want to do a little more home work in these trades as youll find that valeters and wheelie bin cleaners are really struggling and losing a hell of a lot more cusys then w/c,  so god only knows why you would of sold all your w/c work then contemplate these businessess

Just enquiring - Im starting a construction business so w/c taook up too much of my time therefore it was sold - My question relates to how would w/c cope if the new leglislation was enforced on them especially with how much water a wfp system can use

That was what i was thinking - i was working 8hour days 4-5days a week that was tking it easy as well as answering phone calls every half hour - I was also trying to start my construction company which i needed time for to meet people and make them vital contacts. Therefore i had to choose to continue with the windows or to commit to my other company which i decided to do

There are a couple of things i don't 'get' in the business model. People sign up for direct debit £6pm sold as £3 per clean (one black one brown collection).
But i notice that by me now they are putting in green plastic liner bags into the bins to stop them getting dirty.Great idea, saves cleaning them, but couldn't the customer buy their own liner bags and put them in at less than £3 a time?

Also isn't the introduction of a large plastic bag against the ethos of modern life and conservation?

So my opinion is that they are destroying their own industry.

We specialise in new builds from housing estates to hospitals and schools. We are currently in talks with willmott dixon on some possible contracts but things are looking well even in the recession

as i still have many contacts in the construction industry, you must be crazy to think about it now

yes you will be in discussions for many contracts, BUT them same contracts are being touted to loads of others

i know of a "well known" new build outfit that have shut down sites and are now taking on "council refurb work " i have seen the prices they are putting in, they will be losing money on most of the work and they will hope for the " extra's " to earn them a little more money, its all about trying to keep the trades going for the next 9 - 12 months )

We specialise in brickworks and i agree that magins are being squashed like all other sectors. However we are in a very good position to compete with the very best and iv already secured 50 house estate and just need to agree terms of 2 £2m projects - As i said previously we are aiming for the commercial market but slowly the residential sector is recovering alot faster than expected

What trade did you do ?

Shocking.
